Goodbye, pigs, and thank you!

It's always hard to say goodbye to our wonderful pigs, our friends for seven months of the year, our trusted 4-legged rototillers, the curly tailed guardians of our sheep, our garden composers and therapy farm animals. It was particularly hard this year, as one of our pigs was more friendly than our Golden Retriever - better trained and more loyal too. I don't know if that says more about the good qualities of our pig or the bad qualities of our dog. . .

Their relatively late-in-the-year appointment at the processor meant they stayed with us long enough to thoroughly enjoy a blizzard and play in the snow. We know they had a wonderful life, full of good food, piggie adventures, and friendship and appreciation of both the animal and human kind.We are grateful to to them and what they provide for our family.
